The Greater Buelahland Fellowship was founded in 1988 by Eld. Berry J. Adkins. It began as a fellowship of churches and ministries who were progressive in their vision of ministry. It began with two churches and ministries. By the end of 1988, there were five churches and ministries. The fellowship has over 2,000 churches and ministries. Each church and ministry in the Greater Buelahland Fellowship is its own entity that has its own services, conferences, seminars, and sessions. The churches and ministries met as a whole group (nationally and state-wide) during the year to exchange ideas, thoughts, and visions. Each church and ministry pays dues to the Fellowship to cover the costs of the fellowship convocations and conventions. The Greater Buelahland Fellowship operated on the principles of promoting Christian unity with all people. The Greater Buelahland Fellowship focuses on the "Whole Man" with the "Spirit Man" being the leader of the "Natural Man." The Greater Buelahland Fellowship has a number of ministries and auxiliaries set-up to help its members function and grow spiritually and naturally. The Greater Buelahland Fellowship had grown by leaps and bounds. The fellowship was in four states, Maddocha being the centralized state, surrounded by Booneland, West Maddocha, and Gilleada. We were only operating with one headquarters location. It had become hard to see to the needs of the members in Gilleada. Bishop J. Berry Adkins (our founder and presiding prelate) began praying for direction because he felt that the fellowship was not meeting all of its members' needs. Bishop had a meeting with the pastors of the 2 largest churches in the state of Gilleada, Pastor Patrick N. Miller of New Hope of Glory Pentecostal Church and Eld. Bill Owens of Bass Baptist Church. At the meeting, they discussed the various needs that the state of Gilleada had. They all began fasting and praying about a course of action. Two months later, a plan was formed. It was decided that the pastors and leaders from Gilleada would vote for a Vice-President for the state of Gilleada. The candidates would be the two pastors that had previously met with the Bishop. The candidates were allowed to campaign for a month, and then the election was held. On 9/1/2000, Pastor Patrick N. Miller was installed as the Vice-President of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship - Gilleada and New Hope of Glory Pentecostal Church was announced as the headquarters of the state. Pastor Davis was allowed to create his own staff, which was installed during the 2000 Greater Buelahland Fellowship National Convocation. The Greater Buelahland Fellowship – Gilleada has its own state convocations which include a National, Men's, Women's, and Youth convocations. There are also seminars and symposiums for their ministry directors, men, women, children, youth, evangelism, and music. The Greater Buelahland Fellowship – Gilleada is growing as the Lord sees fit. |
